I have a 98 ford explorer 4.0 sohc when I start the car from a cold start its runs up and down until it warms up then its fine, what could be the problem

leaking o rings on the upper intake. common problem. Roy

are you talking the o ring between the throttle body and the intake? I had to change the thermostat housing and had to remove the throttle body. could that cause the same problem?
