hey i am thinking of buyin me a 1997 ford explorer it seems like a real solid truck but it has one problem... it wont go in park... what could cause that and how much would it cost to fix?

Ford explorer's are notorious for transmission problems. If it is automatic and there is an evident problem with the transmission I wouldnt bother with it because shortly after that repair another will arise. To answer your question it could be a multiple of things, Hydrollic or mechanical. Without further diagnosis it would be hard to just deem something.. What controls the transmission in one gear could also help in another. Its a big headache and I just sold the damn thing.
