What is your question?
over the past 3 months if the vehicle sits for several days it drains the battery way down. when its running it seems to take a charge. my volt meter shows a drain when i touch it from the negative post to the negative cable, while the positive cable is hooked up. it also indicates a drain if i touch it to the housing of the alternator. what is the problem and how can it be corrected. thank you

it is possible for a starter to cause a drain,it is an electric motor.especially if it is coated with engine oil.
Need to remove fuses each by each and check the consumption of the circuits - see which drains higher than normal amps. When you have the faulty circuit at the fuse, you need to test the individual components on that circuit. Better to have a wiring diagram - otherwise it will be a difficult process.
I had already tried pulling fuses, which I should have indicated in my question. I didn't notice any difference in the amount of drain. In addition to seeing a drain when I touch the negative cable or the alternator housing. I have found I can touch virtually any thing on the engine and even the body or frame of the vehicle. When I pulled the power from the solenoid I no longer had the drain. Could the starter somehow be creating the drain. Thank You, Gary Red Rider
