drive train

Check engine light is on. Took air hose off of the brake booster, tapped it up. The brakes felt fine before, but now hard to push (of course.) I put it in fourwheel drive, put it in reverse. It hesitated but backed up. Put it in nutueral, rolled to a stop. Put it in drive it hesitated a bit but then kicked in. Now it goes down the road fine, but durin the process of slowing down to 0, it wants to die. So I started it in nuteral to get it back home.
