problems filling fuel tank-gas guage not working-can only get about nine gallons

Possible Canister Vent Valve Solenoid,Part # PV529 maybe stuck?Possible vent tube clogged on the filler pipe/neck(the small line)....as far as the fuel gauge not working,i would say the sender is bad..the float arm/switch..rarely it is the gauge,but slight chance it could be..scan test would confirm. you can just replace the sender in the fuel tank,it's around $140.00(no pump included).Part Number: 692-226....a new fuel pump module assembly is around $240.00,although your pump is still working! the Ford fuel pumps last a long time as long as it's not run LOW or EMPTY on fuel!(mine lasted 16 years and over 300,000 miles on my F150! either way you go,if the sender is the problem,you have to remove it from the fuel tank.. copy and paste the link..this is a 2003 2003 fuel pump replacement - The Sport Trac Web … www.mysporttrac.com/MySportTrac/projects/FuelPumpReplacement.pdf
