What is your question?
4 wheel drive expedition ecoboost 2015. Noise while driving in 2 wheel drive, mostly hear it under 50mph. Sounds like something is loose in the front end, more noise when going over bumps, etc. When placed in 4 wheel drive, either 4A or 4H/L, more of a grinding noise-sounds like coming from the same place. Doesn't have any issues with 4wd or driving normally. No lights on the dash, it drives straight down the road. Just the annoying noise.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing makes it better or worse besides bumps.

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. Your Expedition's front end noise could be caused by a few different things. Since the noise changes when switching between 2WD and 4WD, it is likely related to the drivetrain. The grinding noise when engaging 4-wheel drive suggests there might be an issue with the front differential, transfer case, or CV axles. Even though there are no warning lights and the vehicle drives straight, it's important to have these components inspected to prevent further damage. A certified shop in your area can help identify the source of the noise and recommend the necessary repairs. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
