Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Expedition. It sounds like your overdrive issue is tied to a transmission or electrical problem. Since the overdrive isn't engaging, and you've had to drive with it off, it's likely causing excess stress on the engine and transmission. The issue could stem from a faulty overdrive solenoid, transmission control module, or a wiring issue within the transmission system. Consulting a trusted repair shop for a diagnosis is your best bet, as the problems can be pretty complex. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
