Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. It would be unusual for this particular engine to have a failed cylinder head gasket. However, anything is possible. It is also difficult to know if your reservoir is leaking or if it is just overheating. If it is overheating, replacing it will not help anything. If it has a crack, and is leaking, replacing it might help. Flushing your cooling system is never a bad idea. But it is not required to replace the reservoir. Not the best "do it yourself" repair for the unexperienced; you can burn yourself with hot engine coolant if the engine is warm.
