P1000 indicates that that all "readiness" tests have not been completed by the powertrain control module. It may be due to the thermostat allowing the engine to run cold, or a problem in the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) circuit, for instance. You need for the thermostat to keep the engine hot enough and the VSS to be working consistently for the engine to run economically and clean.
