What does is mean when. "low fuel" indicator flash for a second while driving?

usually when that happens,the sending unit is bad inside the fuel tank.this is the float arm switch that lets you know how much fuel is in your tank.your fuel pump is also mounted to the sender,but it's still working because you're still driving it.you can continue driving it by keeping plenty of fuel in it(keeping up with the miles you get per tank with the odometer trip button),or have the fuel pump module assembly replaced($500.00-$1000.00 at a shop). example: if you get 300 miles per tank,go to gas station,reset trip to ZERO and fill up,then when you put 250 miles on it,go fill up again and reset trip to ZERO,keep repeating. it's up to you....
