Steering wheel pops when turned to right, and knocking noise from right wheel.

The pop in the steering wheel occurs every time I turn it to the right at about 2 o'clock, there is resistance before pop, but then it turns fine. The knocking noise comes from the same side front wheel area any time I hit a bump. I know that my right front Axle seal is leaking, and am thinking there is a possible rack and pinion leak. My power steering fluid is dirty even though I just did an exchange less than three months ago. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
