What is your question?
recently on my 2002 ford escort zx2, when I turn off my ignition and pull the key out, the radio and the clock light stay on. all power is suppose to be turned off when key is pulled from the ignition but what is puzzling is that sometimes it will appear as if it is turned off like normal when I pull the key out and when I close the door, if the the radio was left on it will come on playing music like it would be if the key was in the ignition and turned to acces. as well as the clock light. One time I thought some one had tried to break in my car, cause when it first happened, I had no problem and when I came back an hr or so later the radio was blasting music but there was no key in the ignition. I have had the car for tree years and really no problems with it. the car is a 2.0 dohc zetec engine with a manual trans. is it a loose wire, bad ignition switch, something simple or very expensive. any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like an issue with the ignition switch in the steering column. Only testing will verify for sure, of course.
See if your windows also work with the keys out and the door open..if they do, it is most likely an ignition problem. Otherwise it is likely a short somewhere behind the dash or possibly just a glitch.. Just dealt with the exact same thing in an '04 Hyundai Elantra. For a short term fix/ reset of the problem there should be a fuse labeled "overhead light" or some variation of that- pull that and the clock light should go out as well. That will at least stop the battery from draining. I actually reseated the fuse and the problem disappeared: started the car multiple times and as soon as I took the keys out the clock light went out and the radio would shut off/not turn on. If it really is a short vice just a "glitch" then it may come back and they I'll take it in. Your fuses will probably be a bit different than mine, but the basic idea will remain the same. Hope this helps.
Thank u for your help
