how to get it to start

When the engine "fell flat" the cruise control had disengaged, if you pressed "Resume" the cruise control should have reverted back to the speed you had set it too. When you accelerated did the car die and cut out of just fall flat and then accelerate? Is the car driving normally since and have you tried to operate the cruise control sine and has it experienced the same problems again?
