What is your question?
I have a 1998 Ford Escort with about 100,000 miles on it. It has been a great car. Lately, however, the car will respond sluggishly if I accelerate. Usually, this occurs when I'm traveling at low speed such as 25-35 mph and then step on the accelerator - the car will chug or cut out but after a bit it seems to gain speed and then everything is okay. I had the spark plugs replaced about 5,000 miles ago. Any ideas?

have you changed the fuel filter? or maybe try a fuel system cleaner and see how it act.
O2 sensor or wiring, if its not a consistent power loss/idling issue: pre-cat 02 sensor, the one in the front of the engine it is the important one, you need a special tool, its not too expensive to have a mechanic do it. I.E your fuel to air mixture is getting screwed up, for some reason 35-45, and 50 -65 mph tend to be where you notic, otherwise its your transmission going out.
I have not changed the fuel filter but that was on my list of options. I haven't even looked for the filter yet. Are you able to direct me to it? Thanks for your initial response.
