Push clutch in car will start put reverse release clutch completely. Barley moves put in first release clutch barley moves but it barley engages the clutch .
How long has your 1995 Ford Escort had this problem?

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Sadly, it sounds as if the clutch may be worn out. If there's not enough clutch material, present, the transmission and the engine will never connect and you will never be able to engage movement. Alternatively, the clutch hydraulic system could have a failure as well. But if this was the case, I would expect the clutch to not be able to be disengaged.
