Oil plug

The drain plug is on the oil pan. I can't think of a better way to explain it. The oil pan extends from the bottom of the engine block, then the drain plug is threaded into it. Have you checked to see if your serpentine belt has broken? If so, you would lose steering, charging and water pump function.
