Does the gear indicator on the center counsel illuminate when the lights are on?

Do the gear indicators on the center counsel illuminate when the lights are on? I also have a 2017 Explorer and the indicators on the center counsel next to the shifter do illuminate when the lights are on with this vehicle. Trying to find out if they should also illuminate on my recently purchased pre-owned 2018 Escape SEL. Thanks
