Have you brought this in to the dealer for warranty work yet? This should be covered under the manufactures warranty. Alex
Our 2017 Escape developed the identical problem a couple of days ago. It was covered with salt and winter grit, so I assumed the sensors were blocked. Just got back from the car wash. Problem persists. Is this a dealership issue?
Were you able to resolve this. I am having the exact problem with my 2017 Ford Escape with towing package.. The dealer first wanted to charge me 200.00 for a diagnostic and then "reprogramming" because my 7 pin connector not a "Ford" connector. When I asked them, if Ford had a 7 pin connector part, they weren't sure. I also asked if buying a Ford 7 pin connector would relieve many of any future responsibility to pay, then the ticket writer was uncertain of that also. This has just started happening in wet inclement weather. My wiring 7 pin wiring harness has performed fine for 3 years. Frankly, I believe it is some sort of sensor that is getting wet and failing and not the wiring harness at all. We will see.
I'm having the same issue. Just purchased my 2017 Ford Escape last August, and it continues to throw these warnings. It is incredibly annoying.
Okay, here's a solution that worked great for me as I had the same issue on a 2016 Escape. If you search Youtube, you might find the guy I got it from. Get yourself a set of 17mm shotgun/pistol cleaning brushes. The ones I found on Amazon also had 5 cotton bore mops to go with the 5 brushes. I also bought a spray bottle of WD40 Contact Spray and another of Fluid Foam, a rust inhibitor and protector. I sprayed the contact cleaner into the three female contacts of the trailer wiring connector, carefully pushed the cleaning brush in and twisted it as I pulled it out. I did these two or three times, re-sprayed the contacts again and brushed a second time. Then I sprayed the Fluid Foam into the three holes. Most of that was from the video but, since I had the bore mops, ran one of them in to spread the Fluid Foam and sprayed it one more time. I replaced the contact cover and forgot about it for a couple days. I drove my Escape about 15 miles today and it hit me that all the beeping and warnings were gone, drove home and silence.
Hi Alex, Dealer here states $139.95 for diagnostic testing...thoughts?
My wife fixed it. Try this before you waste money at the dealer. It is a messy winter here in Michigan and the car was filthy. So I had it washed and the problem persisted. Then my wife went to clean the camera lens and she noticed the cap to the electrical cord was loose. She put the cap back on, and it's worked fine ever since.
"Cap to the electrical cord"? Do you mean the 4 pin trailer connector cap?
