Hello, this steering system is not a hydraulic system - power assist is provided by an electric motor. As a result, checking fluids won't be of any relevance to this steering system. Because it is electronic, it's possible there's a concern with the system that is causing the symptom you are experiencing. The key to resolution will be to have a technician familiar with this vehicle and system duplicate what you're experiencing, so the concern can be figured out with hands on troubleshooting.
