What is your question?
It starts fine, i let it idle to get up to running temperature and it still dies. Ive unhooked battery for 30 minutes plus, ive touched negative cable to positive for 30 seconds, Ive tried doing all the resets. I had ignition coil codes so i replaced all 6 ignition coils, still does the same thing. The #6 coil, front driver side, was burned and so brittle it kept breaking apart when trying to pull it out. But i got it, replaced the coil, still it dies when shifting. I also had a P420 code, i loosened the bolts on the cat converter flange, still stalls out when trying to shift. It has roughly 250,000 miles as it used to be a cab. Ive had this issue since i got the car 3 months ago, off and on, but now its just not allowing me to shift out of gear again. I tried for an hour, with varying times of idling first ranging from 2 minutes to 20 minutes.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Its always the same regardless of temp. Though its alaska so its been constantly cold for months now.
How long has your 2012 Ford Escape had this problem?
3 months sporadically

Hello, what I'm hearing from you is efforts to make repairs to a certain point and then stopping because it's too complicated beyond. Or perhaps too expensive. The first thing that needs to happen is resolving any diagnostic trouble codes and related symptoms. Loosening exhaust creates more problems than it helps. It's not a valid way to resolve anything. I would be concerned of the quality of components used – are your new coils directly from Ford? They really need to be. Anything else is questionable in quality and ability to do the job. Also, did you determine the cause of that coil being so burned? Way too complex to determine what is wrong without hands on professional testing -- I appreciate that you've gone a certain way with it, but there are so many possible issues that it's hard to guess without again - testing for what we know to be failed and resolving that before "short cuts" and "guesswork". https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me
