What is your question?
The RPMs shoot up to between 4000 and 6,000 whenever I even lightly tap on the acceleration, then it drives like it's in a low gear before throwing itself into limp mode and the rpm won't goes back below 3000

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Escape. The symptoms you're describing sound like the transmission is struggling to shift properly. This could be due to a failing transmission control module, slipping transmission bands, or low or dirty transmission fluid. Another possibility is a malfunctioning throttle position sensor, which could confuse the engine and transmission about your acceleration needs. Since it's going into limp mode, there may also be a stored trouble code in the system that will help pinpoint the issue. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
