What is your question?
After drive for a bit my theses won’t catch. The rpms shoot trying to shift to second gear. The suv begins to sputter while having no power to accelerate or shift gears. Could this be the torque convert or what else could be the issue?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Happens after drive for a while short drives never have this issue
How long has your 2010 Ford Escape had this problem?
Third time this happened since buying suv april

Torque converters do not come into play until the vehicle is above 35 miles per hour or so -- so no, I don't think your torque converter has anything to do with anything. Often times for this vehicle, there may be an internal transmission hydraulic or clutch concern that is causing the problem. Electronic transmission testing should be performed to see what the shift commands are versus what the transmission is doing.
