What is your question?
(2006 Ford Escape) The further I drive, the more apparent the smoke is. It's kind of a light grey color and not really dense. I have a picture of where I think it's coming from, but to put it into words: The smoke comes from the passengers side under the hood, like closest to the front passenger seat. I haven't noticed any noises coming from my car and I haven't seen any leaks. One of my family members thought they saw a little oil leakage. There is a smell coming from the car but I can't very well describe it, maybe oil. I'm not much of a car guy. Please help me identify the problem.

Hey there! I'm Dusty, an auto expert from RepairPal's Car Genius team. I'm here to help! If you notice smoke coming from the engine, particularly on the passenger side of your 2006 Ford Escape, it could be attributed to various factors, such as an oil leak, coolant leak, or exhaust leak. One of the most common reasons is oil seepage from the valve cover gasket(s) or other components landing on hot engine parts, resulting in light grey smoke with an oily smell. Be sure to thoroughly inspect the area for any signs of leaks, burnt residue, unusual odors, or temperature changes. Additionally, make it a habit to check your engine oil regularly. If you cannot pinpoint the issue, it's advisable to seek the expertise of a professional and provide a clear picture for a more accurate assessment.
