How much does it cost to replace RPM gage wire on 2005 Ford Escape

What is your question?

The "check engine" light came on after oil was changed. Attendant hooked "FIXD" device to console and that is what was it said needed to happen. Is this a fairly easy fix?

You need to have it looked at by a professional. You can not tell with a scan tool why rpm signal has been lost. Could be many things. Alex

You can see if your crank signal is not reading but that would mean the car would not start.
