What is your question?
2005 Ford Escape Limited. Parked and not driven for 1 1/2 years. Battery dead and taken out to recharge. Car now starts but lights and all the panel intruments are inoperable. What's the problem here? Is this something that the Ford service people will need to examine and can fix without too much difficulty or expense? solutions? Thanks in advance for any insight.

Start out by inspecting these three fuses in the underhood fuse panel: F2, F3 and F21. They power the smart junction box, a module that commands both the headlights and instrument panel illumination. If these fuses are not blown, a qualified technican will have to diagnose it.
thanks much Brian. Will proceed as recommended.
