Check engine light flashes fuel consumption is high and I just noticed a leak in two hoses connected to the EVAP. Could that be the problem?

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Your EVAP hoses are not going to contribute to an engine misfire. Surely, repair those - but look elsewhere for the source of this concern. If you have a misfire after replacing all plugs and coils - I'd ask where did you get the plugs and coils from? I'd strongly recommend original equipment Ford parts for plugs and coils on this vehicle. Aftermarket parts may not work properly. Other than this, you'll want to perform a compression test to see if the internal engine cylinders are all performing up to their proper capacity pressure-wise. If compression is good, then it must be parts used...or checking wiring connections to the coils. Much less likely is a fuel injector concern, but I suppose that would be a last check.
