what are the signs of a bad coil pack? the engine was shaking when the gas pedal was pushed but smooth when coasting, now the engine is running very rough and we replaced the crank shaft sensor but it did not improve.

a missifre is the firstr sign. ford had a tsb to replace all the coils and plugs on there v-6 motor before the pcm gets damaged. also, driving with this condition can cause cat converter failure which could cost the better part of 1,000 dollars. get it checked asap to prevent further damage. what made you change the crank sensor, as it had nothing to do with the problem?? use the directory tab at the top of the page to find a shop in your area.
