AWD with 186k miles. Have a vibration issue from back of car above 45mph. Recent alignment, new tires, rear brakes & rear shocks. Dealers says they removed driveshaft to rear wheels, vibe remains. Transf Case & Rear diff fluid changed too. What next?
What is your question?
Before new tires, dealer had 4/32 and 6/32 tread tires on each front & back axle. They said it would not cause any problem, but the vibration appeared after 2 months when weather started getting colder. Got 4 new tires, dealer said it was tires. Fought and got all 4 tires replaced 2nd time, but vibration in back of car over 45mph remains. Any suggestions for diagnosing problem?
2 possible causes. The first is a worn outer cv joint on one or both of the drive axles, the other is a damaged dust ring on the drum causing a misbalance.
New brake drums on both rear wheels, from NAPA. Save vibe before and after rear brakes rebuilt (If that is the drum you are referring to). Rear axle shafts are original, so will have these checked as well as the bearings. Thanks
