What is your question?
It acts like it wants to start just can't seem to do it. A full tank of gas so I know it's not out. There was no warning given. It just shut off. Didn't miss or sputter. Just died like key had been cut out off
What makes this problem better or worse?
It obviously doesn't matter
How long has your 2001 Ford Escape had this problem?
Just this one time

Hello, engines need more than just fuel to start. If there is fuel at the engine, there also needs to be the right amount of spark and the right amount of air. You'll have to continue testing to find what elements are missing. Beyond that, things like faulty PCM relays, for example, can cause unexplained stalling. But that's a total wild guess, and likely not the cause of your troubles. Hands on testing is what you need. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
