Can front ABS ring be replaced without replacing entire Halfshaft?

Typically you have to get the CV joint or half shaft, because the ABS ring is pressed on to the outer CV joint. I have taken a used axle, and worked off the ABS ring and then installed it on the axle with the broken ring. Yes, although finding a part may be hard. getting it off and on can be tough, so be sure to use a little heat to help.
