Hello, this has become a common problem over the past several years. The first thing to note is proper understanding of the system controls. If you have dual climate control, when you set a temperature the fan motor should be fluctuating to reach this temperature. When the engine is cold and you ask for heat the fan should fluctuate as the engine warms, then as the temperature in the cabin is met. If you adjust the temperature and vent selection but not the fan speed, the fan will continue to change speeds to regulate temperature. If you put the fan on the highest setting, it should blow on high no matter what. If it doesn't blow full blast with the fan speed set to high, the chances are the fan speed controller/fan resistor needs to be tested. Models with dual climate control use the fan speed controller, and others use the resistor.
If you bring it to our shop, we will run a diagnostic test to determine what the issue is that is causing this issue. Call to schedule an appointment, our phone number is 317-573-0107, we are located at 40 South Rangeline Road, Carmel IN.
You can have it on auto or non-auto; the fan speed starts changing on its own. Like a ghost is hitting the button, beep, beep, beep, beep, so on and will continue making the beeping noise that you hear when you hit the button until you manual stop it. Than sometimes it doesn't stop. You have to hit a couple of different buttons to make the system turn off or slow the fan down.
Were you able to find a solution to this? My ford explorer just started doing this.
