What is your question?
I am driving a 2003 ford e150 with a 4.2 6cyl. engine. during normal driving at 35 to 45 i have a intermittent miss or stutter. cleaned the MAS, fixed the IMARC, [new bushings and connecting rods] changed coil pak and the wires seemed to help but you can still feel the intermittent miss or stutter. Is there a way to test for whether it is a transmission stutter or engine miss fire. I do have a obd-2 code reader and all the codes have been addressed so far and no new codes are appearing. also changed all fluid filters and fluids with exception of the transmission fluid and filter. I am hoping it is not the transmission but right now i can not tell. Also i have another question. I have read that it ruins your trans. if you switch between drive and overdrive during normal driving?? Big Mahalo from Hawaii

Hello, you need a diagnostic tester that can monitor component operation. It is possible you have a torque converter clutch or engagement issue, causing the shudder. When you have a high end diagnostic tool, you can actually see the torque converter operation and the percent of engagement demanded while driving. This can help determine if the torque converter is somehow related. In the event the torque converter is at fault, ensure you are using the proper transmission fluid -- and that you have replaced all of it. To answer your last question, you can switch between drive and overdrive as needed, but whereas I do not think it will damage anything, I would limit switching it to times when you are climbing hills or driving on winding roads, causing excessive shifting at 30-50 miles per hour.
