Will it be okay until i can get it fixed? Can i drive to work?

Hello, if you have an engine misfire, as usually you will with ignition coil, coil boots or spark plugs issues, continuing to drive the car will allow fuel that is not burned to head out the exhaust system. If this happens, your catalytic converter's temperatures will rise beyond normal levels, and it can damage them. For this reason, it is not advisable to drive a vehicle that has an engine misfire -- you can cause far more damage.
In addition - you stated it “cuts off now†that can present a hazardous situation under the right conditions. Just saying.
