Car has 174,000 miles on it. I bought it new and it has been well maintained.

well,they are very good cars.the City and County Police have lots of them where i live.also the Sheriffs Dept.,and also Taxi Cab company has all(many) crown vics and they have a slew of miles on them.the City and County do keep them serviced very well.the engines have timing chains instead of timing belt and should last the life of the car,unless rattling or noise occurs.the 4.6L vin W Romeo engine is a good engine.i have a 2000 F150 with that same engine in it and i have 309,000 miles on it right now!really the only thing i have done to mine is remove the throttle body and clean the egr passages that were completely clogged with carbon(common problem on the fords).Oh,and i did just recently replace the (original factory fuel pump)at 303,000 miles.it had the date stamped on the pump 7-24-2000,and the ford part #.so 15 years and 303,000 miles on factory pump!just keep the oil changed.hope this helps.
