have a contour that is chugging and lurching have changed fuel filter and pump along with plugs and wires ran for two weeks and now won't crank

The problem seemed to have stopped for about two weeks after we changed the valve cover gaskets and plugs and wires. Then slowly started to occasionally have an "episode" till the other day went out to crank to go to work and it would never start up and run.
