Hard to Start if car has been sitting for days.

I had the car sitting for awhile because of dead battery, After i put in new battery the car started instantly. However when I let the car sit for a day and try to start it. The motor just spins but if I pump the gas the car attempt to starts. Can someone please help I stranded and can't get to work. Thanks in advance.
