There usually is no set time for a steel brake line repair as most shops will give you a quoted time of about two hours and see where they stand as they make the repair. It probably won't go over two hours but the shop never knows what they are getting involved in due to age of vehicles and what the other lines next to the broken one may do. What I mean by this is when you repair one line the other linse will be disturbed and may also develop a leak. If this were to happen there would be more labor to repair the other one as well. If you have a brake hose, caliper, or wheel cylinder the labor is about 1.5 - 2 hours. This includes bleeding the brakes and the repair. The parts cost will differ depending where it is leaking from. I would feel safe to say your looking at about $300 or so for parts and labor on any of the repairs I mentioned if you go to an aftermarket shop. The dealer will charge more for parts. One hour labor can range from about $87-$103.
