Rack and pinion needs replaced....anybody know about how much a shop would cost

Most shops do not install customer supplied parts due to many factors. If you are looking for the least expensive fix, I would recommend calling shops with your vin # and asking each one. I don't think anyone is going to give you an estimate of the forum. And it may or may not require a rack. May need a pump or some other repair. You need a good mechanic/tech to check the vehicle first before throwing parts at it.
