What is your question?
The thing is I had the battery disconnected because I wanted to do a drive cycle to set the monitors. Strange thing is other times I would disconnect the battery they would stay set. I read somewhere it can take up to 200 miles of driving for a reset to happen. I have tried doing the speed up and slow down while driving but it has been about 5 days and the monitors are not ready. I did a cycle on/off of the key to check for any codes and none are shown. Should I try taking a long drive or just wait which may take another week or more of 20 miles a day of driving? To add the vehicle has 104,000 miles on it and it is a 2.4 Dual Overhead Cam engine. Does the engine temperature have anything to do with the time involved? Being it is colder now maybe the engine needs to run longer?

Not sure what the question is. What is the car doing or not doing?
I guess what the question points to is the monitors not being ready or set. Also why it seems to be taking such a long time for them to be set. If you are familiar with what the monitors are there are many of them and they allow for error codes to be set by the PCM if there are faults. Whether it is possible there may be a problem that might be causing the monitors not to be set. I guess what it is doing is Self Check it does when the key is first turned on. The Engine light stays on and flashes meaning the vehicle is not ready if you were having an emission test.
