does anyone know if there is suppose to be a rubber seal on the tip of the fuel tank filler where the gas cap locks into? i know the gas cap has one .i was wondering if there should be another one on my 2000 stratuss,2.4 engine.thanks any suggestions will be helpful.

Not that I have seen. There is a rubber seal that goes around the filler neck but that is 1-2 inches below the tip of the filler neck and does not contact the fuel cap, at least it shouldn't.
