were you charged for the ac to be charged?? I would examine your invoice first before attempting this. the system will have to be vacuumed out and the proper amount of freon installed assuming there is no leak. Roy
The A/C system needs to be properly evacuated and under a vacuum for at least 15-20 minutes before and new charge is introduced. Depending on how long the system had been opened the accumulator/drier shoudl also be replaced. The amount of "freon" put into the system is critical to it's proper operation. This job should be done with by a professional with the proper equipment.
I picked up engine at salvage and had the guy exchange engines.he seems to have done a good job.works out of his 2 car barn.everything seems very good except A/C i called him on it and he said something about the evap and all i have to do is pick up a/c charge at auto zone for 25.00 and i could do it.does this sound ok and could you walk me through it.thanks
ac is not that easy. if you overcharge or under charge the unit, it will not cool right. and besides, if he opened the system, the dryer has to be replaced as well. if you are not familiar with ac, let a shop give you a bid. if you get freon in your eyes, you will be blinded for life. Roy
