Why do i have to push on the gas to get it to start

It sounds like it wants to turn over for a moment then makes an electrical like wind down sound. Or if I keep pumping the gas it sputteres and chokes but then when she does start she is a bit shaky and sounds like my exhaust is broken somewhere. It does leak oil Andi found a broken hose that leads up to the air filter and once started I swear I smell exhaust inside of the car pretty strong
