Need to replace brake light switch.

First , disconnect the electrical connector on the short harness coming from the switch. There may be a plastic hold down securing the harness. Remove that also. BEFORE REPLACING THE SWITCH , Plug in the new one & look at the brake lights. ( IT should be in the ON position when it is not installed ) Press the button to turn them off ALLS GOOD? NOW. GRAB the OLD switch VERY securely & PULL STRAIGHT OUT. The switch looks like it has threads on it for a nut but those are not screw threads. A spring loaded retainer holds it in. it also has a KEY to fit in a slot. So Make sure it goes in , in the same way. When replacing the switch , push it in until it hits the pedal arm. THE plunger in the switch needs to be in all the way , so you may need to push in more. check full operation , on & off DONE
