My transmission will not stay in proper gear between 40-55

What is your question?

It keeps changing gear back and forth, up and down. It drives me nuts. Sometimes it also does it at 70 too. It seems to be worse on damp days. What I end up doing is taking it out of OD until after I hit 50

I am presently in NH for another month. I would like to know if this is something common, if its an easy fix or adjustment. I don't plan on working it myself I just need an idea of what to do.
