Why does my 4 wheel drive light not come on?

I take it that means tearing my dash apart to get to the idiot light, correct? I was hoping there was just a switch under the boot by 4wd shift lever not making contact.

IT's a process for a DIY'er, If you had the scan tool to be able to read the system, then you could read the data and find your problem. You could have a problem some place else. Was just having you to verify if the light is bad or the power going to it. You can do whatever you want to try.
