My four wheel drive is working great but the light quit working. Is there a simple switch not "hitting" when I shift?

Test the circuit at the light connector for power and ground, if power is there replace it, if not trace the circuit.
I take it that means tearing my dash apart to get to the idiot light, correct? I was hoping there was just a switch under the boot by 4wd shift lever not making contact.
IT's a process for a DIY'er, If you had the scan tool to be able to read the system, then you could read the data and find your problem. You could have a problem some place else. Was just having you to verify if the light is bad or the power going to it. You can do whatever you want to try.
