Does the ignition switch need replacing or can it be repaired? Is this simple?

My truck has been working fine. I got up this morning to go to work and the ignition is locked. There were no warning signs that there was any problem with the ignition switch. It just locked overnight.

Be sure the steering wheel is not turned as to put pressure on the lock mechanism! Rock steering wheel back and forth, hard, while turning key. Happens quite often.
