My laramie slt did not come with factory fog lights, they were added before i bought it and use a toggle switch. I purchased the oem headlight switch with fog lights where do I connect my fog lights to the oem switch

You would have to find out how they wired in the after market lights. Is the toggle providing ground or 12v power to the lamps. The OEM switch was designed to provided ground to the lamps. I suppose it doesn't matter, but that is the way it was designed. On the switch itself, on "Connector 2", the ground would come in on Pin 1 (Blk/Org) and out on Pin 2 (Brn/Yel) to the fog lamps. If you want to keep it the way it is now, just disconnect the two wires on the toggle and connect it to those two pins on the headlamp switch. You can ohm it out first to make sure the switch controls those two pins. There was other logic involved on the original design. The switch would provide a ground to the fog lamps via a relay that the daytime running light module would have control of.
when you remove your headlight switch, you should have a plug behind it,that's not plugged up,just hanging or zip tied in there.at least mine is that way,i have no fog lights,so it's not used.i guess they wire em all the same at the factory.
The small plug with only two wires, so i just hook ground to one wire and hot to the other? What about the fog light relay i dont have one in my fuse box? Im making it more complicated than it is figures lol, thank for your help bro you two guys are awesome. I have another question my buddy has a 2000 ram 1500 with a 3.6L v-6 it ran the night he went to look at it to buy and now it wont do anything when turning the key to start, no click nothing but all the lights and buzzers come on until the ignition is in the start possition, should i start checking grounds? Whats the first step you would take?
if the battery voltage is 12.6 volts, and connections are clean and tight, including grounds, suspect ignition switch or the key cylinder that works the ignition switch. i think it's a 3.9L instead of 3.6L,but that don't matter.
The toggle switch has a constant 12v a ground and a switch leg, so shoul i make sure the ground is running through the switch? I was over thinking the hell out of this little project, thanks bro im going to wire them up first thing in the morning.
