What is your question?
the engine revs pass 3000 rpm almost like it jumped in the wrong gear while entering the hill and sticks in that lower gear,,.. Could it be a sensor or something else,..The transmission doesn`t slip,..

its hard to guess just bring it to nearest Aamco transmission to get your diagnostic test or local trans. shop in your area.
could be normal operation....what are you expecting? upshifting to a higher gear on hills?
YES , does not lower engine speed mean better gas economics??
who is talking lower engine speed ???
Edward, don't fret about it...ziptie likes to f... with me by trying to make me sound wrong. We all know that upshift = higher engine RPM.
NOT downshifting would keep it at lower RPMs , Sorry I didn't clarify. So it sounds like , from further description , that your more concerned about what's happening AFTER the initial downshift- a delay in returning to the higher gears until well after the load situation is gone?
exactly
Get REFERENCES to a REPUTABLE trans. shop , and have scanned AND test driven to CONFIRM symptom.Sounds like poss. a faulty pressure switch or shift solenoid (electrical fault NOT mechanical) at this time. THANK YOU for replying to my wise crack , so we could clear up the symptom description!
thank you,ED
Please reply with the results! Or at least something to let ziptie know he's an idiot!
if you are going up a 45 degree incline going 60 seems right to me is your check engine light on the only trans problems with shifting i ran across was the Governor and governor transducer but i usually throws a code also how many miles do you have what shape is your fluid in
It only has 62000 miles and the fluid is the colour it should be with no burn smell..Yes it goes in as it should on the hills but the problem is it`s not shifting out of 3rd and into 4th when it should
60 mph,,half throttle and a 45 degree hill..Seams like instead of droping back to third it goes in second and stays there until there is a fairly big down grade .
