Oil level is fine, pressure is at zero and goes up when I accelerate. The pinging noise has slowly got worse over time. The truck runs fine, and shifts great
How long has your 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 had this problem?

Start with hooking up a mechanical oil gauge to see if you truly have 0 psi at idle. If that's the case you need to start by investigating why that is. It's possible you will need your engine rebuilt or replace if you have no oil pressure or it could be the oil pump. Use this link to find a good shop near you. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops Alex
