Once in a it dies or will not start, check engine light doesn't come on at all!

What is your question?

What ever the problem is it affects the check engine light! When you turn the key you know if it's going to start or not if the check engine light comes on it'll start, if it doesn't it will not! The problem comes and goes with no warning, the first time it restarted in about an hour, the second time it was a week or so before I could start it!
